History

The Journey of Vianney School

With the motto "Faith and Hard Work", the Kannada Medium School was started in the academic year 1992-93, followed by the English Medium School in 1993-94, under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Y.S. John, and was named Vianney School.

Initially, the school was exclusively for boys. From 1992-93 to 1998-99, a well-equipped new building was constructed for children's education. With the support of many generous donors, multiple buildings were constructed for both Kannada and English medium students.

From 1999, under the leadership of Rev. Fr. M.D. Vincent, the school progressed further. During his tenure, the school compound and playground were well organized. In 2000-01, the English Medium High School was started, and in 2003-04, girls were also allowed to pursue education.

In 2004, a "Teachers' Residence" was built on the campus. The students brought fame to the school by participating in national-level hockey tournaments. Fr. Vincent, who served for 10 continuous years, planted several trees on campus, enhancing the environment.

In the academic year 2009-10, Rev. Fr. Herald Pinto was appointed as the school manager. During his leadership, student enrollment began to increase. Two sections were introduced at the primary level.

In 2010-11, due to the ill health of Fr. Pinto, the school was managed for a year under the leadership of Fr. Arokia Nathan, then Secretary of BDBE. That same year, the Kannada Medium High School was started.

Under Fr. Pinto’s leadership in 2011-12 and 2013-14, the school achieved 100% SSLC (10th grade) results.

On May 21, 2014, the Kannada Medium classes 1 to 7 were recognized as a government-aided school, benefiting seven teachers with government jobs.

From the academic year 2014-15, Rev. Fr. Francis Bhashyam was appointed as the manager. He showed special care toward the education of underprivileged and girl children, offering concessions in school fees and encouraging students to develop an interest in learning.

A grand 10-room building was constructed in place of the old cycle shed, providing improved facilities for the KG section and English medium students. During festivals, laddoos and cakes were distributed, bringing joy to the students. An auditorium was built to host cultural programs. In 2017-18, the silver jubilee (25th anniversary) of the school was celebrated with great enthusiasm.

From the academic year 2019-20, Rev. Fr. Nathan became the school manager. He led the school with the motto of Education and Discipline. During 2020-21, amidst the pandemic, online classes and worksheet-based learning were conducted. Despite the challenges, student numbers remained stable. Teachers continued receiving salaries, and groceries were distributed to those in need. In 2022-23, students resumed their learning with renewed enthusiasm.

In March 2023, the old Kannada Medium building was demolished and a new 8-room building was inaugurated on June 20, 2024.

For the 2024-25 academic year, Rev. Fr. Amal Chandra was appointed as the new school manager on June 3, 2024, and is working diligently for the academic progress of the school.
1. Benches were provided in all classrooms for students.
2. KG Section classrooms were repainted and aesthetically enhanced.
3. A Kids Park was developed in the KG section to help children learn through play.
